The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Nikki Bowman has been chosen as the Member of the Month!
Nikki Bowman, a West Virginia native, is the owner and editor of WV LIVING and WV WEDDINGS Magazines and co-owner of WV LIVING Marketplace, which has two locations—the Seneca Center in Morgantown and the village at Snowshoe Mountain. She graduated from West Virginia University magna cum laude in 1992 and received her master’s degree in Writing from DePaul University
in Chicago. Nikki grew up in Clay and Kanawha Counties. She now lives in Morgantown with her husband, Greg, who is a law professor at West Virginia University, and her two children.
WV LIVING is the critically acclaimed statewide magazine that celebrates modern day life in West Virginia. It showcases the best the state has to offer with positive stories about our small towns, charming shops, cutting-edge restaurants, and talented craftsmen. The magazine’s reach has quickly grown beyond the state’s borders and is the first West Virginia lifestyle magazine to be sold nationally. It
is on newsstands in more than 15 states. WV WEDDINGS Magazine is the state’s bridal bible with a readership exceeding 90,000. With more than 300 pages of “real” WV weddings, it is helping expand and promote the wedding industry in the state. An extension of the magazine, WV LIVING Marketplace is a retail establishment that sells only West Virginia-made products in an inviting and contemporary setting. It provides West Virginia artists and craftsmen with an outlet to promote their work and expand their business.
Since moving back to West Virginia, she has logged thousands of miles in her car driving from one corner of the state to the other. She meets with numerous community leaders, artisans, and small business owners and champions their causes. She frequently speaks to alumni groups, civic clubs, and other associations about the need for West Virginians to become invested in their communities and to take pride in their heritage, and she has seen firsthand
the important role that tourism has in keeping our state’s small towns and businesses viable.
